According to news on August 15, Tesla CEO Elon Musk posted a post on Weibo today, congratulating Tesla on the roll-off of the millionth vehicle at its Shanghai Gigafactory.
At noon of the same day, Tao Lin, Tesla’s vice president of external affairs, reposted Weibo and said, “In more than two years, not only Tesla, but the entire new energy vehicle industry in China has achieved tremendous development. Salute to the 99.9% of Chinese people. Thanks to all partners, the localization rate of Tesla’s supply chain has exceeded 95%.”
In early August this year, the Passenger Passenger Association released data stating that from the beginning of 2022 to July 2022, Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory has delivered more than 323,000 vehicles to Tesla’s global users. Among them, about 206,000 vehicles were delivered in the domestic market, and more than 100,000 vehicles were delivered in overseas markets.
Tesla’s second-quarter financial report shows that among Tesla’s many super factories around the world, the Shanghai Gigafactory has the highest production capacity, with an annual output of 750,000 vehicles. The second is the California Super Factory, with an annual production capacity of about 650,000 vehicles. The Berlin factory and the Texas factory have not been built for a long time, and their annual production capacity is currently only about 250,000 vehicles.
